Elle Fashionwear: S/S'13 collection event
Hello dolls,
It feels so refreshing to be back here after a month long study sabbatical full of notes and exams. When I received the invite for the preview of the Elle Fashionwear's S/S 2013 collection, I was delighted. What fueled my excitement further was the fact that the event was falling just after my exams and it had a 'Midday in Paris' theme to it !
The event was held on a sunny thursday afternoon where I was welcomed warmly into their Bandra store by the team where I was led off to get my hair and make-up done by the artists of Jean Claude Biguine.

The hairstylist gave me loose curls *nothing too different from what my hair usually looks like though* and the makeup artist gave me dramatic winged eyes. The picture above is the only one I managed to take of my outfit which I picked because I felt like the white, black and red clash seemed very Parisian and theme-appropriate.

Along with continuous servings of delicious macaroons, hors d'oeuvres and champagne, I was given a preview to the collection by the designer herself where she explained how the essence of it is botanical items, how punchy bright colours take focus and how the fabrics consisted of delicate chiffons and breathable cottons which are perfect for the Indian summer. I've had a previous love for this particular print myself so my favorite piece definitely had to be that lovely pair of fruit print shorts in citrus shades.

We were then invited to take the clothes for a spin and style them in the way we liked. I chose a gorgeous cotton blazer in with a delicate floral print, a basic white top with a lace trim and a pair of pleasant lilac jeans with a scarf belt.
Outfit details: Black quilted bag - Reiss [previously seen here], Black wedges - Ginger, On my nails - Max Factor 'Red Carpet Glam'
The event was such a grand time where I finally got to meet a number of bloggers I had previously conversed with only online and catch up with blogger friends over a glass of champagne. Kudos to the Elle Fashionwear team on the amazing event and the lovely goody bag received *which had monogrammed ELLE chocolates! Eeep!*
What a perfect way to start the summer!
I've got some amazing ideas and posts coming on the blog so get set, dolls and here's to a fantastic week ahead!
