Elle Fashionwear: S/S'13 collection event

Hello dolls,
It feels so refreshing to be back here after a month long study sabbatical full of notes and exams. When I received the invite for the preview of the Elle Fashionwear's S/S 2013 collection, I was delighted. What fueled my excitement further was the fact that the event was falling just after my exams and it had a 'Midday in Paris' theme to it !
The event was held on a sunny thursday afternoon where I was welcomed warmly into their Bandra store by the team where I was led off to get my hair and make-up done by the artists of Jean Claude Biguine.

The hairstylist gave me loose curls *nothing too different from what my hair usually looks like though* and the makeup artist gave me dramatic winged eyes. The picture above is the only one I managed to take of my outfit which I picked because I felt like the white, black and red clash seemed very Parisian and theme-appropriate.

Along with continuous servings of delicious macaroons, hors d'oeuvres and champagne, I was given a preview to the collection by the designer herself where she explained how the essence of it is botanical items, how punchy bright colours take focus and how the fabrics consisted of delicate chiffons and breathable cottons which are perfect for the Indian summer. I've had a previous love for this particular print myself so my favorite piece definitely had to be that lovely pair of fruit print shorts in citrus shades.

(Clockwise) The lovely Rhea of FUSS, the designer of the collection and little ol' me

We were then invited to take the clothes for a spin and style them in the way we liked. I chose a gorgeous cotton blazer in with a delicate floral print, a basic white top with a lace trim and a pair of pleasant lilac jeans with a scarf belt.
Outfit details: Black quilted bag - Reiss [previously seen here], Black wedges - Ginger, On my nails - Max Factor 'Red Carpet Glam'

The event was such a grand time where I finally got to meet a number of bloggers I had previously conversed with only online and catch up with blogger friends over a glass of champagne. Kudos to the Elle Fashionwear team on the amazing event and the lovely goody bag received *which had monogrammed ELLE chocolates! Eeep!*
What a perfect way to start the summer!
I've got some amazing ideas and posts coming on the blog so get set, dolls and here's to a fantastic week ahead!

Une soirée à Paris

There is nothing like a flouncy skirt on a sultry summer evening. The flirtiness, the chicness and ladylike charm you exude when you slip into one is truly one of a kind. Now with the summer here, I'm all set to dive into my favorite shorts and skirts. And while we're talking about favorites, if there was ever a look named after me *one that would probably be called 'Classic Dayle'*  it would have to be the combination of the winged eyeliner and red pout because it is one that instantly adds an elegant touch to an outfit and one that I deem a favorite of mine and a true classic.

So when paired with my statement pair of red pumps and a french maicure, the whole look seemed perfectly appropriate for a summer evening in the streets of Paris which I would spend twirling romantically around wrought iron lamp posts and eating a Croque Monsieur.

Navy blue chain t-shirt - Zara, Heart print mix skirt - Promod, Red pumps - Zara, [previously seen here] Lock and key necklace - Accessorize [previously seen here], On my eyes - Maybelline drama gel liner 'Black', On my nails - Stagecolor Cosmetics, On my lips - Colorbar 'Hearts 'n Tarts'

And while April is here to greet us, so are my university exams which equals to about a month of me being buried in a pile of books. Blogging will be impossible from under that pile so I'll be on a break from the blog for this month. I will be active on both, Facebook and Twitter and in case you require to reach me for any event/collaboration/promotion, my email id is on the left panel.

I will miss you dolls and the blog a tonne and a half but I've got great things planned when I'm back so hang in there - It will be May before you know it!
