Queen for a day

When you are invited to be treated like a queen for a day, you always say yes. So when this appropriately royal scroll  arrived as an invitation to the Taj Salon's 'Queen for a Day' event, I had to say yes. The event took place recently on a lazy Sunday afternoon where all I could think about was kicking back and getting pampered after a tiring week.

From the get go, the relaxation began in full swing. We were introduced to the team and the Taj Salon, which when it first opened in 1940, was one of the only 2 salons in the country! I chose a facial to start with which was so divine, I could visibly witness the glow my skin had even before I got my makeup done! Some of the employees that work at the salon today have 3 decades of experience from working with the founder of the salon, Madame Jacques. Next in line for me was the makeup. I had the sweetest artist working on me and once she learned of my soft corner for smokey eyes, she gave my a subtle pink toned smokey eyes which was suitable for a day look as well.

The unisex Taj salon is stunningly designed and the moment you step inside, you can feel an air of calm envelope you. The highlight is definitely the gorgeous pedicure-manicure station from where you can directly watch the sea and the sunset. If that isn't luxury, I don't know what is!

Finally, I got my hair done in a retro side 'do which complimented the theme of the day brilliantly. Place a tiara on top of that while posing for a few shots and the look was complete! As the evening progressed, the pampering didn't cease. The pedis, manis, mocktails and hors d'oeuvres continued right until the end when we bid farewell with a generous basket of goodies.

Eat your heart out, Kate Middleton because I certainly felt like a queen!
