Style Files | YouTube Fan Fest

Hey dolls,
Yesterday I got the amazing chance to attend the first of its kind event in the city, the YouTube Fan Fest which is a festival where a hand-picked bunch of popular artists from YouTube address their fans live and interact with them. Over the past couple of months, I've slowly been catching on with YouTube and trying my hand at editing as well *as you can see from my latest expedition here* so I figured that it would be an experience, if anything since Bethany Mota and Michael Stevens who I follow, would be there among other speakers. Once I arrived on the scene, the crowd was much younger that I expected with girls barely reaching their teens going completely fan-girl crazy. It was quite endearing but it also hampered Bethany's talk to some extent.
If you couldn't be there for the fest, Style File has got your back and we've covered the best performances from the night starting with an introduction from the hosts for the evening, the All India Bakchod team and then a stirring performance from the artists at Maati Baani.

The team from Viral Fever then performed a comedic skit of  the current political scenario with a very apt portrayal of a certain Mr. Goswami.

Following that, the night saw its share of stars too with Varun Dhawan and Nargis Fakhri performing a song from their upcoming movie with a few audience members which included a a couple of tweens in a batman and superman costume who flocked to the stage for almost ever performance that there was.
And hey, Varun is a pretty good dancer too!

And did I mention that Shah Rukh Khan dropped in too? Well, for barely a few minutes though.

And then Lilly Singh a.k.a Superwoman arrived on the scene and was met with some serious cheering for her! Truth be told, I've had never seen her videos before the event but honestly, just one clip of her videos was hilarious enough for me. Bonus points that she was just the sweetest, most down-to-earth girl when she interacted with the audience.

Check out her little gig with a few of her fans *including the previously seen cape-clad superman and batman tweens*

There was also the Mumbai based Sherry Shroff who did a 3 minute makeup makeup challenge with the men at All India Bakchod.

That's when the crowd-favorite Bethany Mota finally arrived on the scene looking every bit as lovely as she does on YouTube. Like I said before, the crowd got a little hysterical and surrounded her onstage which threw off her slab of time by a bit so she managed to get in just a few Q&A with the audience, including what she liked the best in Mumbai.

And finally was, what I thought, the performance of the night by Michael Stevens of Vsauce who was..how should I describe it - pretty freaking awesome.

He dropped a whole lot of knowledge which got a lot of oohs and aahs from the crowd but the cherry on the cake was when he carried out the largest ever global ever *which we were part of ! Eeep!* It basically included the physically present audience in Mumbai carrying out a basic wave which was followed by the virtually present audience who were live-streaming the video to carry out the wave by themselves in their homes when Michael called out their countries and was completed by us again in Mumbai.

I've just got one word to say about it - Phenomenal.

Hope you enjoyed the little peek into the YouTube Fan Fest that I've covered here and on my Style File channel !
