Life | Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2015 snapshots

Recently over iced coffees, an appropriate conversation about fashion week ensued while at fashion week. We were chatting about the current Indian fashion scene and when asked about what keeps my flame burning for the spectacular showcase, season after season; I had but one answer. It isn't just a few days of collection showcases and designer clothing, it's an experience. And after covering Lakme Fashion Week for the past 3 years, I can wholeheartedly affirm that.

I remember my very first time at fashionweek, as clear as day. I was apprehensive but boy, was I excited! I was nervous about fitting in with the exclusive bunch of bloggers and journalists who were dutifully taking notes. My outfit was thought out well, chic in an effortless sort of way but still stylish to show I had tried. The venue was buzzing. Viewing collection of designers that I had long admired in reality, blew my mind. Showstoppers got the camera clicking. It was unlike anything I had ever felt.

When I return every season to Lakme Fashion Week, that feeling always comes back. That anxious mix of excitement, the mental conversation I have wondering if I used enough hair spray, the inner squeal when the lights dim and the pre-show announcement begins. I see it in the fresh crop of fashion students that attend too and it's delightful. I'm glad to see a bunch of like-minded individuals who get excited about embellishments, showstoppers and accessories the way I do.

This season of Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2015 was memorable like every other. Attending as many shows possible was top priority because that's the very resource for the season ahead. Somewhere in between, I did manage to attend a bloggers brunch, get a few shots at the designer stalls and get onboard with Lakme's theme for the season, The Sculpt Look.

I'm a headliner for experimenting with shaping so The Sculpt Look by Lakme was well received by me. As you can see, models sashayed down the ramp with a contoured cheeks and jawlines that could cut glass and the predominantly bright lips stole the limelight. Definitely one to try in the season ahead.
