Style File + Asus | Holidays snapshots
While I am often indecisive about my favorite season, the winter makes my choice crystal clear and one of those reasons is because of the holidays. It's the most wonderful time of the year for good reason, with my house decorated in the spirit of the season, the air is filled with the smell of Christmas cake and there's a bounty of presents under the tree. The season was even more special this time as the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser arrived just before the festivities, cementing itself as my companion all through the holidays.
Let my take you through the holidays with images shot using the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser smartphone, which definitely gives me a case of the post-holiday blues. The photos are published directly as taken on the phone with no processing or editing whatsoever.
As the name itself suggests the philosophy of the Zenfone is that of simplicity, in thought, design and usability. On first touch itself, I noticed that it is ergonomically crafted in a way that its large 5.5 inch full HD screen is cradled in the palm of the hand. If I say that in its creation, there was a great attention to detail, that would be an understatement. That's because there is thought applied even in the little things; from the accurate touch detection to auto dimming.
The highlight of the Zenfone 2 is definitely its camera. Its precise laser auto focus finds a place in the phone name for good reason as it focuses 3 time faster than a traditional sensor and does so in less than a second. It is jam-packed with 13 megapixels and a Toshiba BSI sensor for those sharp, vibrant pictures. In addition, its wide angle of 75 degrees, number of modes and dual coloured LED flash will power you through dark nights and large groups.
While it's only occasionally that I snap a selfie, I admit that I've been taking quite a few more owing to the Zenfone 2's front camera. It has a glorious wide angle to fit more into the frame, 5 megapixels and a sensitive sensor for great pictures. When coupled with the real time beautification mode, they make selfies quite an addiction.
Impressing me greatly is the concentric circular back button which multitasks as a volume key, a power button and even a camera button. Its convenient position makes snapping a picture or adjusting your volume while listening to music.
At the amazing price of INR 13,999, I'd recommend the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser in a heartbeat. It will accompany you through dull days with stellar sound, memorable moments with an excellent camera and everything else in between with its long battery life.

When it came down to the battery test, that's where I was hesitant. You see, my cellphone is my constant, whether I'm listening to music on my morning commute or if I'm browsing by Instagram at night. So taking a lesson from my previous phones, whose batteries all waned by the evening, I had armed myself with a battery pack and charger. However, it was all in vain because even by evening, the Zenfone 2 was going strong. The
3000 mAh battery is exceptional and ensured that a full charge of the phone lasted more than 24
hours as I browsed the web, listened to music and snapped pictures throughout the day.
It's possible for me to casually mention that its screen is made from the finest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 but I went the extra mile. Although unintentional; the strength of the screen was put to the test when I dropped it face down. My heart might have stopped there for a milli-second but I picked it up to find
that nothing had changed about my Zenfone 2. It was flying colours for its drop
damage resistance which saved it completely as did the metallic
hairline finish back cover, which did not even have a scratch. It’s SonicMaster 2.0 technology ensures crystal clear sound
and reception, whether through the dedicated sound chamber with 5 magnet
speakers, the different modes for different activities or its Zen Ears system
for balanced sound.
