Style File + L'Oreal Cannes 2015 | Sunkissed day to night

One of the upsides to the otherwise sweltering month of May is one, mango season and two, the Cannes film festival. Besides just the movie screenings and premieres, it is the fashionable ensembles and makeup looks that have me riveted. What gets me even more stoked is the annual partnership of one of my personal favorite beauty brands, L'Oreal with the festival and the launch of their capsule collection dedicated to Cannes.
This year too, I was thrilled to be present at the launch and enjoyed trying my hand with the products. The Cannes 2015 collection, consisting of mattes and glosses, is launched for all kinds of tastes, however varied they may be. I've created two looks with the amazing new range that will take you from a bright, sunkissed day to a sultry, summer night with elan.

Fresh as a daisy with my glossy day look

With the humidity enough to deal with, a daytime look for the summer needs to be light and long-lasting for the wear and tear of the day. Keeping it fresh, I experimented with my recent haircut which led to a curly bob. Gloss is all about the sheen and hence, vibrancy was the need of the day. I infused colour into the look with a deep navy blue winged eye, a flush with highlighted cheeks and with a lustrous coral pout.

In darkest night for my matte night look

Matte being more angular and structural, I kept it slick with a straight bob. Being the eternal proponent of the smokey eye look, I decided to create a variation of it with a lived in, smudged eye look and second helpings of mascara. My pleasant pink pout was a much needed addition of colour while pulling the strong look together.

While I've always thought of myself as a matte girl, being team glamorous gloss at the Cannes 2015 launch came with its perks which included meeting the elegant Katrina Kaif who carried herself with such grace and poise.

Another perk was experimenting with the new Cannes 2015 collection. My previous experience with moist matte texture has been an exceptional and speaks volumes about how well the L'Oreal lipstick sits on your lips without drying them out. Add to that, a great range of shades plus a stunning Swarovski embellished tube and the lipstick makes for a thoughtful treasure. I always like to try something new with my eyes, which makes the L'Oreal gel liner a wonderful plaything. The vibrant blue shade is not just on-trendbut applies as smooth as butter on toast and lasts all day long. The liquid lip colour from the range is a fantastic new hybrid of sorts between lipsticks and lip glosses. Truly, the lustre of the lip colour holds a flame to its glossy self while the strong coral pigmentation reminds me of a lipstick.

Now all that's left is to hold our breathe for the Cannes film festival to come around to check out our favorite stars on the red carpet. And you never know, maybe Sonam or Katrina will don some of my favorites from the L'Oreal range!
