Personal Style | Fall Feels
The reasons why I adore the last quarter of the year are countless. During childhood, I wrote it down to Diwali break, carolling and picnics. When I was finding my style, it was because I got to sport the rare pair of stockings and if I was lucky, a cardigan. As I hit adulthood, it was the heady mix of Christmas and the party season. I've finally concluded that maybe it isn't just one reason that can be pin-pointed. Maybe it's all of them together that leaves me lusting for snuggle season and leather weather.
Because, let's be honest, it's hard to pick. The leaves are changing from youthful green to aged orange, lending a satisfying crunch to each step you take. Iced coffees don't seem to set the mood but pumpkin spice lattes and peppermint hot chocolates certainly do. Off-shoulders aren't even given a second look because shearling lined jackets have taken precedence over them. Horror movie marathons trump every other plan. See? I told you it was hard to choose!
Most importantly, the season gives me; an over-dresser with an autumn obsession, a list of reasons to dress up. So the second I felt a chill in the air, I decided that it was time to layer up. To do the trick, my gorgeous printed poncho came to my aid. I complimented it with weather appropriate leather panels, deep tones and understated accessories. While I love a deep lip, this shade is the darkest I've ever gone with (which gives me a strange sense of pride!). It blends wonderfully with a plum-copper eye makeup look and my brand new textured bob hairstyle. So here's to the most magical season and may it be filled with cups of eggnog, contoured cheeks and fluffy coats by the dozen.
